In 1957 Ford muscle cars started to get behind when the AMA the anti-racing was enacted in the summer of 1957 and Ford overnight canceled all its high-performance options including its supercharged 312 V8. Ford followed the AMA where Chevrolet and Pontiac continued promoting their high-performance programs like nothing had changed. Today Ford muscle cars seems to be ahead with Ford Mustang Cobra and the Ford Mustang Shelby.
