Mercury Cougar and the
Ford
Mustang were built on the same assembly lines in Dearborn's River Rouge
plant in San Jose, California. Where they shared almost all the engineering
and styling . when the cobra jet engine was an option for the
Mustang and Fairlane it was also available for the
Mercury Cougar. The GT-E made the Mercury Cougara superior
luxury car.
